2019 Fall Tryout Schedule

Fall 2019 Try Out Schedule

All new and returning players interested in playing for Melrose United this coming Fall should attend our Fall 2019 Tryouts. The coaching staff will be evaluating each player’s technical and tactical skills via drills and scrimmages to ensure we are properly placed for the Spring NSL Season. All tryouts will be held at the East Side Knoll or West Side Knoll Fields.

All teams are based on a players birth year.

We planning to field at least three boys teams teams this fall.

Monday June 10
Boys Born In
2009 and younger – 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM on the East Side Knoll
2007 and 2008 – 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on the West Side Knoll
2005 and 2006 – 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on the West Side Knoll

Tuesday June 11
Boys Born In
2009 and younger – 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM on the East Side Knoll
2007 and 2008 – 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on the West Side Knoll
2005 and 2006 – 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on the West Side Knoll

Thursday June 13 (Rain Date)
Boys Born In
2009 and younger – 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM on the East Side Knoll
2007 and 2008 – 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on the West Side Knoll

There is no charge to attend Melrose United tryouts.

Melrose United players are placed on a team based primarily on their birth year. Other factors that can influence a player’s placement include satisfying league minimum roster sizes, player ability and positional need.

Tryouts for our spring teams will be held starting on January 6th.
You will receive an email confirming your tryout date on the Thursday prior to your tryout.

Spring 2019 Try Out Schedule
Tryouts for all Melrose United spring teams (boys and girls) competing in the Northeast Soccer League (NSL) will begin on January 6, 2019.  All tryouts will be held in the Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School Gym.

2004 through 2006 – 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM
2001 through 2003 – 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM

Sunday January 13
Boys Born In
2007 through 2011 – 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM
2005 and 2006 – 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM

Sunday January 20
Boys Born In
2003 and 2004 – 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM
2000 through 2002 – 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM

Sunday January 27
Girls Callbacks – All Ages
4:30 PM to 5:30 PM

Tryout Registration

U10 and U13 Practice Changes Today

The city has closed the West Side Knoll today due to poor field conditions.  As a result we have the following changes to our U10 and U13 practices.

U10 practice has moved from the West Side Knoll to Franklin Field (2 Greenleaf Place).  Practice time is still 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

U13 practice has moved from West Side Knoll to the grass baseball field at Pine Banks.  Practice time has also changed to 6:00 PM to 7:15 PM.

U10 and U13 Practice Time Changes

Due to the MHS boys varsity and junior varsity soccer teams playing their games in Wilmington today there are the following changes to our practice schedule.

U10 – 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM on West Side Knoll
U13 – 5:45 PM to 7:00 PM on West Side Knoll.
(Coach Gilbert will be running U13 practice today)
