U09, U10 and U14 Tryouts Are Today On Fred Green Field

Due to the weather today, we are moving our tryouts from The Knoll to the turf on Fred Green Field.  U09 and U10 will try out from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM and U14 will try out from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  Please register in advance if possible.  If you are unable to register in advance, please attend and sign up on site.

All new and returning players interested in playing for Melrose United this Fall should attend our 2015-2016 Tryouts.  The coaching staff will be evaluating each player’s technical and tactical skills via drills and scrimmages to ensure we are properly placed for the Fall MAPLE Season.  All tryouts will be held at the Knoll.

June 15
U09 – 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM on Fred Green Field
U10 – 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM on Fred Green Field
U14 – 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Fred Green Field

To determine your player’s age group for the 2015-2016 MAPLE season please refer to the following table.

**Most players will we entering this grade in Fall 2015. Birth date is the primary factor in determining a player’s age group.

Spring Registration Is Now Open

Spring MAPLE Season
Registration is now open and will close March 4th.

This spring we will have three teams (U11, U12 and U14) competing in the Mass Premier League (MAPLE).  All games are played on Sunday, beginning March 30th and ending May 17th.  U11 and U12 practices are Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and U14 Practices are Monday and Thursday afternoons.  All practices will be at the Knoll.  Program cost is $285 and includes a new black away game jersey.

U10 Academy
Registration is also now open and will close on April 4th.

This spring we will be offering an Academy program for U10 players to experience Melrose United in a fun, non-competitive environment.  Academy training sessions will take place Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the East Side Knoll. This program will begin as soon as the City of Melrose opens the East Side Knoll field, tentatively April 1st.  Program cost is $100.

Upcoming Practice Schedule and Melrose United Showcase

Open Practices
Over the next couple weeks, all Melrose boys soccer players eligible for U14 through U10  this fall (born between August 1, 1999 and July 31, 2005) are invited to join Melrose United at the East Side Knoll for open practices on May 29, June 3, June 5 and June 10.   Please come and meet the club coaching staff, participate in practice and get to know the current club players.

Melrose United Showcase
On June 12 from 5:00 to 6:30 PM, we will be holding our season ending Showcase at the East Side Knoll.  All returning and new players interested in playing for Melrose United this fall should attend our Showcase.  The coaching staff will be evaluating each player’s overall technical and tactical skill levels via drills and scrimmages to ensure we are properly placed for the fall MAPLE season.

Registration for the Spring MAPLE Season is currently open.   If you completed the Spring MAPLE Interest Form you still need to register for the Spring Season.

Please register online by going to MelroseUnited.com and clicking on Register.

Registrations must be submitted by April 1st in order to submit our rosters to the Mass Premier League (MAPLE) for Week 1 games on April 7th.
