News and Updates for our NSL U13 Team

Outdoor Practices Begin On Monday

The City of Melrose is scheduled to open the Knoll Fields this Monday April 13th.  Assuming the fields open as expected on Monday we will begin outdoor practices for all teams this week using the following schedule.

Mondays and Thursdays
U11 MAPLE – 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM on the East Side Knoll
U12 MAPLE – 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM on the East Side Knoll
U13 MAPLE – 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM on the West Side Knoll
U15 MAPLE – 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM on the West Side Knoll

Tuesdays and Thursdays
U9/U10 Academy – 3:45 PM to 4:45 PM on the East Side Knoll
U10 MAPLE – 3:45 PM to 4:45 PM on the East Side Knoll

Please assume we are practicing unless you receive an email informing you that practice is canceled.

Spring MAPLE Season Games – Sunday April 12th
U12 – 9:00 vs World Cup on the East Side Knoll – Postponed to June 7
U11 – 10:15 vs Derry Soccer Club on the East Side Knoll – Postponed to June 7
U10 – 11:30 vs Western Mass FC on the East Side Knoll – Postponed to May 3 at 12:30 
U15 – 2:45 vs. World Cup at New England College
U13 – 4:30 vs. Real Boston in Quincy – Postponed to June 7

Practice – Sunday April 12th at the Lincoln School
U9/U10 Academy – 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
U10 MAPLE – 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM
U11 MAPLE – 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM

Practice – Sunday April 12th at the Roosevelt School
U13 MAPLE – 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM
U14 White Indoor – 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM
U14 Red Indoor – 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM
U12 MAPLE – 10:45 AM to 12:00 PM
U12 Red Indoor – 10:45 AM to 12:00 PM

Practice Schedule This Weekend

Outdoor MAPLE Teams
U10 – No practice
U11 – Friday 4/3 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Fred Green Field
U12 – No practice
U13 – Friday 4/3 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Fred Green Field
U15 – Friday 4/3 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM on Fred Green Field

The U15s are also holding a meeting for all players and parents with Coach Stoker immediately following practice

Indoor Teams
No indoor practices will be held this weekend at Lincoln School or the Roosevelt School.  This applies to the U10, U11, U12, U14 and U16 indoor teams

This Sunday’s MAPLE Games Have Been Postponed

The Spring MAPLE Season was supposed to start this Sunday March 29th, but due to field conditions all games have been postponed until May 31st.  The spring season is now scheduled to begin on April 12th.

U10 – 11:30 vs Western Mass FC on the East Side Knoll
U11 – 10:15 vs Derry Soccer Club on the East Side Knoll
U12 – 9:00 vs World Cup on the East Side Knoll
U13 – 4:30 vs. Real Boston in Quincy
U15 – 4:30 vs. World Cup in Nashua

Spring MAPLE Registration Is Now Open

Spring MAPLE Season Registration is now open and will close March 22nd.

This spring we will have five teams (U10, U11, U12, U13 and U15) competing in the Mass Premier League (MAPLE).  Please see the Spring Outdoor MAPLE Season page for more details.

U9/U10 Academy Registration is also now open and will close on April 4th.

This spring we will be offering an Academy program for U9 players to experience Melrose United in a fun, non-competitive environment.  To help build the academy players game skills they will also have at least three scrimmages.

Congratulations To Our Fall Award Winners

At our Fall MAPLE Season Banquet on November 17th at Prince Pizza, the following awards were presented:

Golden Boot – Recognizes the top goal scorer for the 2014 Fall MAPLE Season.
U9 – Kiran Thomas
U11 – Ryan Esfahanian
U12 – Sohaib Drif
U13 – Cam Rosnov and Robert Wiesen (tie)

Most Improved Player – Recognizes the player who has shown the greatest overall improvement in technical ability and on field performance during the course of the 2014 Fall MAPLE Season.
U9 – Paul Nault
U11 – Mason Pecci
U12 – Jack Overgaag
U13 – Matt Deeble

Unsung Hero – Honors the player who made a substantial yet unrecognized contribution to the team.  This player demonstrated courage, character and respect towards his teammates and coaches during the 2014 Fall MAPLE Season.

U11 – Max Farmelant
U12 – Rowan Smith
U13 – Theo Bookman
