It was a Happy Mother’s Day for the four Melrose United teams in action yesterday. All four teams with Mother’s Day games were able to pull out victories.
The Boys U12s started the day off with a 4 – 2 win over DFC on the East Side Knoll and moved to 5-0-0 on the season. The U12s will play for the Club North section title at next week’s game vs. FSC North.
The Boys U19s kept the momentum going with a 3 – 0 win over Nor’easter FC on the West Side Knoll to keep their undefeated season going. They moved to 5-0-1 for the spring and can capture the U19 Premier Division title with a win vs. Sudbury Academy in their final game.
A solid 2 – 1 win over Mutiny FC by the Boys U16s closed out the action on the West Side Knoll. The U16s improved to 2-3-0 on the season with their second consecutive victory after three one goal losses to open the season. With two games still remaining the U16 are looking to continue their strong play and move up the U16 Premier Division table.
The Boys U14s finished out United’s first sweep and second consecutive undefeated week of the season with a 1 – 0 away win over Strikers United. The U14s moved to 3-1-0 on the season. With three games remaining, they are still in the mix for the U14 Club Division title.
