Indoor Training Start Date Postponed Until January 14
We were just notified by the city that they are having COVID related janitorial staffing issues. As a result the city is unable to provide the required janitorial staff at the Roosevelt and Lincoln Schools for our program on January 7.
Unfortunately this means that we will have to delay the start of indoor training until January 14. All times and locations will remain the same.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to seeing everyone on the 14th.
Winter Indoor Training Begins Friday January 7 !
The response to our new Winter Indoor Training program for 2022 was outstanding and we are excited to get started. Based on our registrations and the distribution of players across age groups, we will be using the following schedule:

Reminder and Schedule Update – 2022 Spring Tryouts – Sunday January 2
Just a reminder that spring 2022 tryouts will be held this Sunday January 2, 2022 on Fred Green Field in Melrose following the schedule listed below.
Please note we have made an adjustment to the schedule for boys and girls born in 2003, 2004 and 2005. Your tryout will now be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

10:00 am to 11:00 am – boys and girls players born in 2012 and younger
11:00 am to 12:00 pm – boys and girls players born in 2010 and 2011
12:00 pm to 1:00 pm – boys and girls players born in 2008 and 2009

2:00 pm to 3:00 pm – boys and girls players born in 2003, 2004, and 2005
All teams are based on a players birth year.

Spring 2022 Try Out Schedule
All new and returning players interested in playing for Melrose United this coming Spring should attend our Spring 2022 Tryouts. The coaching staff will be evaluating each player’s technical and tactical skills via drills and scrimmages to ensure we are properly placed for the Spring Season. All tryouts will be held outside at Fred Green Field in Melrose.

Winter Training Registration Now Open
Registration for our new Winter Training program is now open.
The club is excited to offer winter training for players in grades 1-12, starting in January. Winter training will consist of ten 60 minute sessions on Friday evenings in an elementary school in Melrose. The first session will be on Friday, 1/7, with the last session occurring on Friday, 3/25. We will not have sessions on Friday, 2/18, or Friday, 2/25. Training will focus primarily on individual foot skills, technique, and mastery of the ball. There will also be opportunities for small-sided games.
Program cost is $125.

MHS Boys Soccer Playoff on Saturday 11/6
The Melrose HS Boys Soccer Team faces the Scituate Sailors at 2PM this Saturday November 6 on Fred Green Field in the MIAA Division 2 playoffs.
Admission is free !
Come down and support the team.
Grass Fields Closed – Boys U14 Practice Canceled
The city has closed all the grass fields in Melrose due to poor field conditions, therefore Boys U14 practice is canceled.
