Mass Youth Soccer – District Select Program

The District Select Program brings together boys and girls from across Massachusetts to compete in a series of weekly games in July and early August and culminates with the annual District Select Tournament.  All games are played at Mass Youth Soccer Fields at in Lancaster, MA.  Players in the U14 age group and younger have their games on Saturdays while U15 and older players compete on Sundays.
Melrose belongs to District 5 which encompasses 42 cities and towns stretching from East Boston to Amesbury.  You can find more information about the District Select Program here.

Melrose is part of District 5 and tryouts for this programs begin this weekend.

We have had multiple Melrose United players tryout and compete in this program over the past five summers.

Vaping Information Session Sponsored by MVMMS and MHS PTO

The MVMMS and MHS PTOs have asked us to pass along this announcement about their Vaping Info Session this evening at Melrose High School.

Learn more at  “Weeding thru the Myths of Smokin’ Mirrors”, Tuesday, Feb. 13 in the MHS Learning Commons. Stop by anytime between 6 – 8 pm. This is an open informational session for adults.

Did you know that a normal cigarette has .95 MG of nicotine in it? Did you know that a vape pod contains 5 x what is in one cigarette? Do you know what “dripping” is?

Vaping is an alarming trend among teens and even pre-teens — high school and middle school students. The Melrose Public Schools are partnering with the Melrose Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition for this interactive and informative event for parents/caregivers next week.

Please come, educate yourself, and build community awareness.

Indoor Practice begins on Sunday January 7th at the Roosevelt School and the Marcoux Gym at Melrose High School.
